Denhay Smoked Bacon Lardons – Classic Carbonara

Quick, easy and delicious. Bring added excellence to your Carbonara with Denhay’s Bacon Lardons.

Serves 2 people   Prep 10 minutes   Cook 20 minutes


  • 1 pkt of Denhay Smoked Bacon Lardons
  • 3 large free-range egg yolks (separated)
  • 40g Parmesan cheese, plus extra to serve
  • 200 g spaghetti
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • extra virgin olive oil


1. Separate the egg and put the yolks into a bowl, finely grate in the Parmesan, season with pepper, then mix well with a fork.

2. Cook the spaghetti in a large pan of boiling salted water.

3. Cover the base of a medium pan with EVO and then peel and crush the garlic, add it to the pan for 1 minute before adding the Denhay Smoked Bacon Lardons, then cook until browned.

4. Drain the spaghetti (keep some of the water) and add to the pan and stir over the heat for a minute.

5. Add a splash of the cooking water and season with lots of pepper and then turn off the heat and add egg mixture. Keep stirring until it’s lovely and glossy. Add more cooking liquid if necessary.

6. Serve with chopped fresh parsley or chive and more freshly grated Parmesan.
