Brussels with Bacon & Almonds

Brussel sprouts with Denhay Unsmoked Back bacon, toasted almonds and cream

Serves 4-6 people   Prep 5 minutes   Cook 10 minutes


  • 1 pkt Denhay Unsmoked Back bacon
  • Brussel sprouts
  • 50g butter
  • 50 Flaked almonds (toasted)
  • 1 Small tub of double cream


Prepare your Brussel sprouts as normal and cook in boiling salted water until tender. When cooked refresh in cold water to stop the cooking and keep the colour.

Drain thoroughly and set aside. This can be done the day before to make it quicker and easier on the day.

Lay the bacon on a tray and grill on both sides until cooked to your liking. Cut into 1cm strips and set aside.

Heat a frying pan on a high heat, add the butter and then the Brussel sprouts, cook on a high heat and get some colour into them, season with salt and black pepper.

Add the cooked bacon and toasted flaked almonds, then add the cream. It will bubble and reduce quickly so turn of the heat and keep moving until the cream coats the sprouts.
